Makeovers: Aloha Shirt Repair
There is a great story to go along with this shirt. About fifty years ago, my client was stationed in Hawaii. He was at the christening of a new boat, and the woman who was to break the bottle of champagne against the prow was nervous of injuring the boat. The client offered his shirt to wrap the bottle, which resulted in a nasty set of tears in the shirt. The woman recently sent the ripped shirt to my client in order to share her fond memories of the occasion. I did my best to restore the classic aloha shirt to its former glory. If you look closely, you can see the lines of stitches.
