People are happy when they get what they want.
Whether you have a special occasion in mind such as a wedding, you have specific needs for working or living, or you just want things the way you like them, a custom sewing job may be for you. Creating custom clothing and items involves working with your ideas and already existing garments, then combining them with the right fabrics and my design skills to produce the garment or item for the occasion.
With our scores of discount clothing marts and truckloads of cheap garments assembled by underpaid laborers, it is sometimes a difficult choice to pay top dollar for quality garments that will last. Like many aspects of our life, our clothing has become an industrial product, a product whose creation and distribution relies heavily on dehumanization. I enjoy helping people create garments that they love and wear often, often based on something that they've had for years that has served well or that they would like to duplicate in a different fabric.
For custom sewing, in most cases the fabric is the key to producing the garment or item you need. Fortunately, I live in a beautiful, quaint, small town that unfortunately has no good fabric stores. I can calculate the amount of fabric needed for a project, as well as give guidelines about the type of fabric required, but it's generally up to you to find just the right thing and get it to me. You can check out my recommendations for online fabric shopping. Any shipping costs involved in a project will be included with the sewing labor and materials costs on the invoice.
